No more models for German magazine

Brigitte, Germany’s most popular women’s magazine announced that it is banning models from its pages. According to the Associated Press, the magazine will instead portray regular readers and prominent women.

This movement will start at the beginning of next year, and is a response to readers saying that they are sick of seeing photographs of bony figures instead of average women. The editors of the bimonthly magazine even told their readers to start sending in photographs of themselves to be considered for photo spreads, which will range from the typical layouts of any fashion magazine (beauty, fashion, and fitness).

Brigitte plans to pay the women the rate of any professional model.

Check it out for yourself but unless you’re fluent in German, be sure to use Google Translate.
